Cold Email Delivery Best Practices
Knowledge Base
If you want your outreach emails to go to your recipients’ inbox rather than spam folder or go undelivered, here are some tips that can help:
Limit Your Sending Volume per Email Address
As a best practice, we recommend that, for each sending email address, you limit its sending to up to 50 emails per day. This decreases the likelihood that your emails are sent to spam or your email accounts are suspended by the email providers.
In your Connected Email settings, you can set your email sending limit range.
Rotate Sending Emails to Increase Your Sending Volume
With Postaga, you can also enable email rotation, which lets you send your outreach emails from multiple different email addresses so you can send more emails in a shorter period of time.
How this works is, first you will need to add multiple Connected Emails to your account.
Then, when creating a campaign, at the scheduling stage, you can choose the sending emails you want to use for the campaign.
Slowly Warm Up Your Email Sending
Don’t start sending 50 emails per day with a brand new email account. That looks suspicious and will likely get your email suspended by your email provider.
Instead, you should “warm up” your email account by starting by sending a few emails per day, and gradually increasing that over time.
Week 1: 5 to 20 emails per day
Week 2: 20 to 40 emails per day
Week 3: 40 to 50 emails per day
You can do this in a few different ways:
- Manually in Postaga
In your Connected Email settings, you can set your email sending limit range.
And then you can adjust it as needed.
- Using Postaga’s Warm-Up Feature
Currently, this feature is account-wide (but we are working to make it connected-email-specific). Postage has an email warmup that slowly increases your email sending volume (https://app.postaga.com/a/account)
You will need to enable the warmup ramp to get it started.
- Using a Third-Party Email Warmup Service
There are email warmup services out there that can also warm up your sending email. Right now, our recommendation is Boxward.
This option is the most thorough one, as this service is dedicated specifically to just doing email warmup.
Ensure You Are Sending to Real Contacts’ Emails
With Postaga, you can validate your recipients’ email addresses to ensure they are real, working emails.
Also, minimize sending to generic “info@” or “contact@” emails if you can.
Don’t Buy Email Lists
Don’t do it. There’s no guarantee those emails are valid.
