If you have not yet first read about Setting up a Custom Domain, please read that first.
To send emails in Postaga from a custom domain, you will need to change the DNS records in your provider’s settings.
To do this, you will need to own a domain to send from (e.g. “your-website.com”) and have access to the DNS settings in GoDaddy.
This help doc specifically is meant to help you if your domain is registered with / hosted with GoDaddy.
If your DNS is not with GoDaddy, you can see here for more general help on editing DNS records.
To edit your DNS records, you will need to log into your GoDaddy account.
Next, you will need to add the appropriate DNS records listed in your Postaga account.
You can get these records by going to your account APIs page and clicking the checkbox under custom domains. Here is a screenshot of an example below:
Using GoDaddy as the example, you will need to:
- Select your domain
- Select Manage DNS, and
- Click the pencil icon to edit the DNS records.
This should get you to a screen where you can edit your DNS records.
For GoDaddy, the DNS record editing screen should look somewhat similar to the one you see below.
Then, you will add additional DNS records from the Postaga API page. These will include:
- Two CNAME records
- Two MX records
- Two TXT records (one is the SPF record, one is the DKIM / domain key record)
You should not need to delete any existing DNS records that were already there.
Then, save the records you added.
Next, you can go to your Postaga API page and click “Recheck DNS” at the bottom of this page, and Postaga will verify the records.
Sometimes, it may take a few minutes for the records to update.
Once you see the checkmarks next to the MX records, your custom domain is confirmed.
Now, any campaigns that you send out will send from your custom domain.
